How we fit a Nikon varifocal
Eye test and a proper conversation
Prescription first, then how you use your eyes: screens, driving, sport, reading. Nikon has designs tuned for each, including Seemax Sports for wraparound and active frames.
Measured on the Visioffice X
Every varifocal we fit, whatever the brand, is measured digitally in your chosen frame. The measurements go to Nikon’s UK lab with the order.
Fitted by Gavin, refitted free
Usually back within 48 hours. We fit them on your face, show you how to use them, and adjust them as often as you need.
Nikon or Essilor?
Both. We are an independent practice and fit Essilor Varilux, Nikon, Zeiss and Hoya. We recommend the lens that suits your eyes and your frame, not a brand. If you want to understand the differences first, read which varifocal lens is right for you.

Which Nikon lenses do you fit?
The Presio and Seemax varifocal ranges, with Nikon’s SeeCoat coatings. Seemax is Nikon’s top design and the one patients notice most; Presio is the everyday range.
Why would I choose Nikon over Essilor?
Both are excellent. Nikon lenses are known for edge-to-edge clarity and very hard-wearing coatings, and Nikon offers designs tuned for sport and for a wider field of view. We recommend the lens that suits your eyes and how you use them, not a brand.
Are Nikon lenses more expensive?
Not necessarily. Price depends on the design and coating, and we work with all our lens manufacturers to keep prices fair. Ask when you book and we give you a clear price first.
How long do Nikon varifocals take?
Usually within 48 hours of your eye test for most prescriptions. Some Seemax designs and tints take a little longer and we tell you when you order.
Do you measure Nikon varifocals on the Visioffice?
Yes. Every varifocal we fit, whatever the brand, is measured on the Essilor Visioffice X in your chosen frame.
